Family Portrait
This still-life captures the narrative of familial bonds. At the forefront, an eggshell and a mermaid’s purse (a dogfish egg-sack found on a beach) symbolize my children, now having 'flown the nest'. Throughout their upbringing, we cherished moments collecting such natural treasures, making these empty remnants a poignant metaphor for their departure. Surrounding them, other objects evoke the warmth and affection of our home. Deep shadows underscore the passage of time and the constant flux of life.
